The second book I read in the Back to the Classics Reading Challenge is The Vicar of Wakefield by Oliver Goldsmith first published in 1766. This book falls under the category of a classic originally published before 1800. To read more please go to my new blog...
I enjoy your reviews. I don't think I'll try this one. Since watching Victoria on PBS, I am presently plodding my way through the 557 page "Queen Victoria A Personal History" by Christopher Hibbert. It is good but not quite chronological, so I have to keep a paper in it to write down all the dates of events; births, weddings, deaths ect.
ReplyDeleteDon't blame you for giving this one a pass. The book on Queen Victoria sounds interesting. You'll have to keep me in the loop on what you think of it.
DeleteI will.
ReplyDeleteUgh, I hate that avid readers are expected to love all the classics. Some of us just don't and that's cool. Lovely review!
